This week we saw Dr. Tabor for our 18 week check up. All of the babies measured the correct size and had good fluid levels. Baby A is settled a little bit too low, which puts me at risk of placenta previa. However, Dr. Tabor thinks she may move up in the next few weeks so he is not concerned at this point. If she doesn’t find a way to head north, I would be put on bed rest due to a risk of bleeding. Placenta previa also means a c-section is necessary, but that would happen for us anyways so it doesn’t make a difference in that regard.
Dr. Tabor seemed surprised at how well I am doing. After my exam he said, “hmmm”, which was a bit confusing. I asked what he meant and he said, “it looks good”. He said my blood pressure was “rocking” (good), and I have no swelling so no bed rest! I’ve been granted another week of freedom. I don’t want to take advantage of my freedom though. I try to take it as easy as possible and not over do (this can be hard for me sometimes, but totally is worth it!)

“hmmmm” Oh, brother!
I am not surprised in the LEAST that the Lord our God is being faithful to your family! Hmmmmmm…
I love the Scripture in Isaiah where God is talking about how He is going to put together seemingly mismatched things just to show that HE is in charge! (Isaiah 41:18+)
I will make rivers flow on barren heights,
and springs within the valleys.
I will turn the desert into pools of water,
and the parched ground into springs.
I will put in the desert
the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive.
I will set pines in the wasteland,
the fir and the cypress together,
so that people may see and know,
may consider and understand,
that the hand of the Lord has done this,
that the Holy One of Israel has created it.
So true! He does make seemingly impossible things work!
So glad everything is going well 🙂
I had placenta previa with Desyn. I was doing fine till I slipped on the ice and fell on my butt. 24 hours later I was bleeding heavily and was sent an hour away to a hospital with a better NICU. I spent the next 5 weeks in the hospital on bed rest and I had a c section at 36 weeks. Praying you do not have placenta previa or any bumps along the way. What are your plans for when you do go on bed rest?
Ugh, that does not sound like a good experience! I am really hoping she can move up so I don’t have placenta previa. If I do, I’m pretty sure it’s automatic bed rest for me! I just bought a used ipad for bed rest and hospital stays. I have a stack of novels to read, digital scrapbooks to work on, letters to write, and a list of movies I want to see. I’m sure I’d still go stir crazy, but at least I have some sedentary stuff to do!
Glad you’re doing good Amber!!! And how is George doing 4.5 months into this pregnancy?
So far, so good for George. He’s doing a lot of nesting projects. His latest was to expand our linen closet to go under the stairs.
